This week: God as lively. If you have any comments - adebelak@redeemerluth.com [mailto:adebelak@redeemerluth.com]Quoting someone in the sermon yesterday I said that 'sanctification means being
lively'. When I first read that, I smiled. Yes! I then thought that this is our
God - lively - animated. How could God be anything else? This is the God who enters
into all that God's people must endure. God as lively bring life - a fullness of
life even when there appears to be little life left in the room. God as lively
is like someone who jumps down from a tree right in front of someone on a walk in
the woods. Bam - wham - interruption. There may be a moment of fear - that's why
angels in Scripture keep telling folks 'do not be afraid' - but this doesn't last.
God as lively quickly engulfs us in something more that is possible in the midst
of what is. Lively already notes that God is moving active a verb that moves through
our lives making us a lively people.
O God of love and new life, move us again, O God. Amen.
