Adventures... in Hope - Redeemer Devotions

The Followers of Jesus as utterly visible. If you have any comments  - adebelak@redeemerluth.com .

The Followers of Jesus as utterly visible is to be nothing more than alive and living within the command that we give our lives away to others that all will have life and have it abundantly. Now what it the world does that mean?! Well, Jesus put it into the action of foot washing. And yet, foot washing was an example of the shape of a whole life. We bend down to serve - we find ways to bring life to others - we pick up the life of Jesus. The Followers of Jesus as utterly visible will not settle for religious language that simply talks about God's love for us and our love for God. Rather, we live within the power of that love - a love that is made visible through our acts of radical hospitality for any and all. People are given a notion of God by seeing God's call to life visible in all we do. It is then that others will be able to say - look how they love. Love is given substance by the utter visibility of the peace, mercy, forgiveness, kindness, and radical hospitality that is seen among us.

O God of love and new life, may our lives be like lights flashing your call to new life out to the world.  Amen.
