The Reign of God as opportunity at hand. Comments to: adebelak@redeemerluth.com The Reign of God as opportunity at hand is never too far out of hand. It is life that can be entered no matter how I life has been going. There is no way the opportunity is pulled away from us. Usually we are the ones who turn and move away from the opportunities in which God's Reign is about to burst forth into the day. Most times, we prohibit the 'bursting forth' by not trusting that new life can come upon us and take hold of us and lead us along a pathway we never intended to walk. The Reign of God as opportunity at hand are those moment in which people say they experienced or saw the birth of a new life right as they were about to go in another direction. And then, they stepped up and watch the birth take place and the next thing they noticed, they were experiencing their birth - re-birth - again. Sometimes, we run away from those moments. Sometimes they capture our hearts. Sometimes we are left spinning and need others to guide us into the depths of the opportunity for new life making itself available to us. O God of New Life and All Hopefulness, open this day - pull us in - hold our hand - help us take the leap into your Reign. Amen.
