This week: God as wonder. If you have any comments - adebelak@redeemerluth.com . If there were wise men from the East who came to Bethlehem, it was because they wondered what the star meant - what did it mean for them - what did it mean for everyone. God as wonder gives us an imagination that seeks to draw us into that which is not yet. Imagination is not simply something we think about - it is part of what may be the reality breaking out right in front of us. Too often we do not let ourselves go out there. God as wonder allows us to stay put in the way things are - and yet, there will always be those signs and visions that coax us to wonder about other things. God as wonder takes us beyond ourselves and there - if we let ourselves go - we may find new life as never before considered possible. O God of love and new life, when you come among us you begin to move our lives around so that we can see and hear your Reign as it becomes visible to us by your grace. Open our hearts that we will move toward your wonder-filled Reign. Amen. |
