The Reign of God as Nevertheless. Comments to: adebelak@redeemerluth.com

The Reign of God as nevertheless is meant to shake us up - pull us beyond our own vision that is too frequently close to blindness when it comes to the unfolding of God's living Reign. We all know how comfortable it can be to stay put or keep within our group or avoid anything that is not within the pattern of our day. Nevertheless, God's Spirit continues to blow and move and distract us so that we may experience life outside of our well-cast play. The Reign of God as nevertheless will throw up a very distinct 'no' as we try to continue into life as we want it. Yes, we may want to have all we want to have and we may be willing to do anything to have it. Nevertheless, God will continue to introduce us to life within God's Reign - even when we seem not to be able to see it or we simply don't want any part of it.

O God of New Life and All Hopefulness, could today be the day we turn to embrace the nevertheless of your Reign. Guide us and lead us. Amen.
