Comments to: adebelak@redeemerluth.com The Reign of God as waiting is a reminder that the Reign of God in all of its promised glory is present. It is here waiting for us to enter the life that is promised. There is no need for us to wait - it is here. Too often, we are depicted as people who are waiting for something to come. That may be why the Church is rarely see as being proactive and leaping into the vast wonder of God's Reign in this place and time. We have become so used to waiting for something to come we miss all the life that is arriving in front of us each moment of our lives. Could it be that we often are waiting for the right excuse not to enter the life of God's Reign by saying it is coming and therefore folks just keep waiting. O God of New Life and All Hopefulness, spill out your Reign all over us that it might get through to us that it is already at hand. Amen. Comments to: adebelak@redeemerluth.com The Reign of God as waiting seems like a devotion for the season of Advent. And yet, the Reign awaits our entry for it is at hand and we have been invited - even inspired - to live within its character of hopefulness and new life. This waiting is not for all of us to do enough in order to enter God's Reign. It is the waiting done by a parent who is running alongside a young child as the child is attempting the first ride on the bike without training wheel. Always present - always at hand, always reassuring - waiting to see how the child and bike will move through the next moment. The Reign of God as waiting already announces that everything is in place - we need only take part in the feast of its presence. O God of New Life and All Hopefulness, we come ready to join in the life your offer. Encourage out response. Amen. Read in browser » Recent Articles:
