The Reign of God as reconciliation. If you have any comments - adebelak@redeemerluth.com . The Reign of God as reconciliation is the ever-present realization that we are not all on the same page. And yet, in order for there to be justice and peace and a community of love, we must open up our hearts and our lives and deal with the different places we find ourselves. If there is no reconciliation, it seems as though it would be quite easy for the house to be divided. It would be easy for lines to be drawn and judgments to be made. The Reign of God as reconciliation always looks at the whole together. There is an eternal concern for how each person - no matter what ability or giftedness s/he has - will be included in the bottom line of our community. How will each one fit in? What must all sides do in order to make room? How will be bend and bow for the well-being of all who partake in this Reign of God? Therefore we must have eyes that are keenly aware of others. No one must be allowed to be left behind and forgotten simply because s/he is not as I might be. So how - how do we prayerfully live within this Reign? Our lives must be open books and as we see each others stories, we learn how to be a peaceable community in which all are welcome. O God of love and new life, help us not to judge and help us to seek out the many ways we can live peaceably with one another in the midst of our differences. Amen. |
