We may have been in one place today - but we may be in a new place tomorrow. That does not mean that we are fickle or cannot make up our mind as to what we will do or who we will be. Rather, we can never be sure how the grace of God will shape us and move us. There is always the possibility that what has been so close to us and exactly the place we expected to be forever is now seen with new eyes and we are pulled beyond what is and into the next bit of possibility that grace whips up for us. The Followers of Jesus as a movement will not fear taking a step out into a living moment that we have yet to experience. For we know that in that next moment - surrounded by the graciousness of our God - may come an experience of transformation. We are a people who move into transformative moments that are connected to the way of Jesus for we have heard the grand witness of life just beyond our places of contentment and the status quo. O God of love and new life, teach us how to move within the power of your gracious Reign and be a part of a new people filled with the possibility of your loving presence shaping us even now. Amen. |
