We are left behind to be truth-tellers who do not let the lies of a broken world rule the day. We are left behind to embody the love of God for all of humankind without exception. If there is no one left behind to live and speak in such a way, the powers of violence and hatred self-serving love will take over the day. The Followers of Jesus as left behind have a grand task before us and it is - already at hand - it is already today. O God of New Life and All Hopefulness, give us the will to step into the way of Jesus and live within the justice and peace and love that is eternally the way of the Christ. Amen.
