Comments to: adebelak@redeemerluth.com The Followers of Jesus as longing are frequently surprised by the many visions of God's Reign that are available to us. Sometime that longing makes us pick up our heads and actually see more of what is going on around us. Too often it is easy to be caught in a rut and we forget about the life God invites us to enter. For too many, there is no story or promise that helps them look up and look out. Rather it is day after day of the same thing and no hope for anything else. The Followers of Jesus as longing move alongside such people to both tell a story full of promise for life and to be a part of that life already breaking out in the world. It is then - hopefully - that new people will begin to see - even in the runts in which they feel caught - opportunities for life that pull themout of themselves to live anew. O God of New Life and All Hopefulness, you bring others alongside us to point to your Reign that is already a hand - a Reign that longs to have us step in and live. Thanks be to you, O God.
