The Reign of God as Coming Forth. Comments to: adebelak@redeemerluth.com

I must start by apologizing for some inconsistent weeks of posting. Some days I simply forget. Today I remembered. The Reign of God as Coming Forth is like adoor that is opened before you reach it. All of the sudden the way is clear - we are invited to cross the threshold - there is a space into which we can move - a free-way into a newness of life. In this case, I suppose, the Reign of God is actually inviting us to come forth - come and follow - come and take on an adventure - come and enter a place and time that may be new and strange but it is one we can enter without fear. The Reign of God as Coming Forth will not let our doubts and fears and anxieties prevent us from taking hold of the life in the Reign of God - it comes and gets us - invites us - surprises us. I find that such an opening frees me up to get moving and forget about everything that tries to keep me stuck in those places of life no one should be stuck. This Reign is Coming Forth to claim us and to shape us so that as it continues to break in upon us, we will gladly move ahead.

O God of New Life and All Hopefulness, open the door bid us come to you. Amen.
