This week: God as imagining life. If you have any comments - adebelak@redeemerluth.com. God as imagining life takes us beyond the biblical story - not out of it - beyond it. The themes - the power - the life - the vision - the transformation continue but it now becomes a part of the life we live and not simply the life about which we read and the stories we remember. God as imagining life helps us to better understand the dynamics that are going on in Scripture. The same God is actively pursuing us and encouraging us to see the kinds of things the first followers of Jesus saw when their world was well in place and yet they imagined something new and went there. So how do we move - how do we take on something more and other - how do we dare to run into the Reign of God that we cannot yet see or touch or hear? I suppose we must do that hand-in-hand. O God of love and new life, hold our hands and lead us forward. Amen. |
