Redeemer Devotions for October 9, 2013

Adventures... in Hope - Redeemer Devotions

This week: God as creative life-giving. If you have any comments  - adebelak@redeemerluth.com.

God as creative life-giving is the God who tells us to put ourselves out there - be the face of the one we say we follow - be the life of the one we say we follow - be the bold forgiveness and mercy and graciousness of the one we say we follow. There is no wait for a reward or wait for a time to come when we will be face to face with the one we call the Christ. The time is here and we are invited by our God to enter it in the creative way that Jesus entered time. God as creative life-giving pulls the curtains back on all the lies that have tried to keep us separate from one another. It is then that we can be free to be just the beloved child of God that we are for we will see in the other the same beloved-ness. That is the essence of the creativity of life within the Reign of God that already is available in the life we are handed - right where we are. There is no need to go someplace else or be someone else - we are a part of the creativity of God's Reign that is present at any and all moments. To life!

O God of love and new life, help us celebrate the fullness of life that you have already granted us and into which you call us.  Amen.
