This week: God as creative life-giving. If you have any comments - adebelak@redeemerluth.com. During some of my reading on vacation, this aspect of God might be more accurately add 'toward death' after creative life-giving. I find that this opens up what is possible at hand - right now - even in the face of that which is to come. Part of that possibility comes when we are reminded that death is no more - death is not a part of the reality of God - God makes life - eternal life. God as creative life-giving is the freeing power that dismantles the power we let death have. When that happens, we can speak and act and touch and love without any of the fears that often threaten us with death - or exclusion - or condemnation - or any other form of death. God as creative life-giving spreads wide the avenue of life that is available this day. Like Jesus - fully available and vulnerable with a love that knows no bounds - we are at the cusp of a new life that begins as we are overcome with the life-giving power of God. God as creative life-giving can turn the powers of damnation and death into no power at all - for within the realm of resurrection, there will only be life. Therefore, we must encourage one another to life within the creative presence of God that is eternally present with Jesus and all of us. O God of love and new life, even as the wind of your Spirit moves among us, we are often afraid to live within your love. Keep the wind blowing and freeing us to live within your eternal Reign. Amen. |
