Redeemer Devotions for December 5, 2014

Adventures... in Hope - Redeemer Devotions

The Reign of God as abiding. If you have any comments - adebelak@redeemerluth.com .

The Reign of God as abiding is a reminder that that Reign has never been gone - it abides. And yet, we need to be reminded of how God does not ever leave our side - there is purpose and direction and worth in this day even when we are not quite able to see it. It is here and always has been and always will be. The Reign of God as abiding is the power that draws us into life that seeks out the welfare of all. As that power moves over the face of the earth, it is multiplied and more and more people begin to see a new way to live right in the middle of all the violence and disruption that cause us to break away from one another. Within this Reign of God that abides, we becomes signs of hope and new life because in the face of the powers of the day we walk within another light - an abiding light - an abiding hope that comes alive among us.

O God of love and new life, abide with us. Amen.
