This is the God that continues on in the way God intends all things to go. There may be threats and acts of intimidation and violence by others - but this is the God who keeps moving toward life. God as moving toward life moves in a non-violent manner. It is not the 'god' who will blow up or destroy the other side. God as moving toward life always puts God's self on the line. This is the God that will risk losing everything in order to bring about life - and bring it about abundantly. To the world, it does not look like a win. It doesn't even look like victory - unless of course, the victory is one in which all sides come around to the creative peace that is always promised in this life God brings to the world. God as moving toward life leaves no one outside the bounds of this life that is called abundant and even eternal. O God of love and new life, open up the ways of your eternal life and pull us into the fullness of its presence. Amen. |
