Adventures... in Hope - Redeemer Devotions

The Reign of God as uncovering lies. If you have any comments - adebelak@redeemerluth.com .

The Reign of God as uncovering lies is like being told you are loved and you are also treated as one who is beloved. And then as we are standing on that loving ground beneath us we are inspired to be a part of that love. Being on that ground also reveals to us when we are walking in a way that is out of beat of that love song from God's Reign. We sense it - we can feel it - we can hear it - we can see it. Oh, we may do our best to ignore that gracious, loving ground, but it is always there. The Reign of God as uncovering lies may be when we take note that we have stepped off God's solid ground of love for us and are now standing in the mud of our own making. I don't know about you but I do quite a bit of standing in the mud that may just be a bit off the ground on which God calls me to walk. Stepping off that ground is when the mud-slinging begins - the lies are used to support our ways and our causes - and God's Reigning presence is ignored. I am always amazed at how quickly it happens.

O God of love and new life, hold us as we walk with you within your gracious Reign. Amen.
